Maastricht Computer failure 15th May

Can't find any info, even via the Search function..................
Major computer failure at MST yesterday, resulting in huge delays, slots and re-routings, yet nothing on PPRUNE...........
Any info?
Apologies if I've missed something!

Seemingly out for three hours , or so , yesterday evening , the longest failure for yonks . I was in this am early and heard the story . However nothing 'official' known . The system is still , in my view , the best we have had over the last 36 years .

The strangest routings yesterday, with everybody flying all over to stay clear of Maastricht. Those that couldn't go around, went below. Not cheap if you fly a B73- something series from Italy to Holland at Level 240/220.

Luckily we were still taking between 30-50% of normal traffic for the full 3 1/2 hrs, when by the book after 1h5m the whole airspace should be cleared and MST officially closed except to state and hospital flights.

From what we here the failure was somewhere in the LAN connecting the various servers; the pri. system was all over the place but the back up system worked very well. In fact the only reason we were able to stay open is the fact that the back up system in MST is now very advanced.

It also happened at one of 'those' moments, planes all over the shop due to CB avoidance, a real heavy workload for a while.

The fact that the failure lasted 3 1/2 hrs is quite extraordinary; we were in fact in the final moments of switching back to the pri. system after about 20mins when it failed again, and so for obvious reasons stayed on the fall back for sometime longer:\

we were due to leave WAW at 7.00z ish back to LTN and were issued slot times of 20.06, 22.32, 23.09, 01.04

in the end the slot was cancelled 1h48 mins after original ETD and we landed back in LTN 20 mins early... the flight back was so quiet, there was only us an one other airbourne.

Unusual situation but well handled by all involved :-)
