.... and from another one.

Next round is on me.:ok:

Roobarb 15th Mar 2008 20:27

I'm embarassed and humbled by the support you guys have shown us here in Limey Land. Even to the extent of live feed from the US to witness the message being pounded out on the concourses of JFK etc.

I hereby apologise for all my off R/T castigations of your bretheren in our skies, and I pledge myself from henceforth to give you my cruising level with my compliments.

With the mention of ALPA I shall copiously furnish warm flat beer and Bourbon with gratitude.

After today I no longer feel alone.

GOD . . . do that bless thing again:D

I'll take on the opposition tomorrow - today it's my management's turn

LHRSIB 15th Mar 2008 21:21

The AA pilot union is APA not ALPA. Interestingly they offer no such support in the US to pilots who need it. I'm sure their "brothers" at American Eagle who have been waiting literally years for their number to come up at AA and are now facing a very uncertain future are thrilled with their show of solidatary.

That being said, good luck to the BA boys.

their "brothers" at American Eagle
You put the quotes in, not me.

Airbus Unplugged 15th Mar 2008 21:30

OK 411a

At least these guys did something incredibly rare amongst your compatriots. They gave a **** about something outside CONUS. They came amongst us and put their asses on the line.

And you continue to talk out of yours.

Only if you let him, AU.

Unfortunately, I read his post before I logged in and he became part of my "ignore list". In fact, he's all of my ignore list!

I find the reference to Cali deeply offensive. It has been reported.

captjns 15th Mar 2008 22:28

Thumbs up to unity amongst all pilots... regardless of the airline affiliation.:ok::D:ok:

ReallyAnnoyed 15th Mar 2008 22:36

Although I'm not a BA pilot, I am grateful for the support from across the pond. It is nice to see some solidarity in these times of huge manager bonuses and onslaught of MOL :ok:

The ignore list works a charm against twats like 411A. Have no idea why he has not been banned a long time ago though.

Sick Squid 15th Mar 2008 22:51

I too am proud to be a BA Pilot after todays march, despite the fact that work prevented me from being there.

As a now ex-moderator, my last moderation act was to remove some pathetic posts the nature of which, and the lack of control of such on this forum, have led me to leave the role behind.

I do not apologise for this, my first, only, ever and last partisan move made using the moderators control panel because I am sick of the back-biting and un-professional attitudes I see so often on here. Time for me to go.

Something has to change, both on this site, and in the profession. I tried to be part of that, but the fight is too much for one simple man.

A heartfelt thank you to my American Airlines colleagues from a pilot proud to be part of such a profession.

APA ... offer no such support in the US to pilots who need it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is pure hogwash.

Just 3 days ago, CAL pilots did informational picketing in Manhattan- at Wall Street.

APA pilots coordinated cooperation/participation there too.

fruitbat 15th Mar 2008 23:37

Thank you from another BA pilot, this support will not be forgotten...

CanAV8R 15th Mar 2008 23:38

Thanks to all the AA pilots, especially those who travelled to LHR and the others who took a weekend off to show support at some major US airports. My hat off as well to the numerous unions and associations worldwide who are supporting us in the background. BA has little clue to the help we are getting.

Airline Consolidation = Union Consolidation.

We seem to be getting the jump start.

:D

Roadtrip 16th Mar 2008 00:16

LHRSIB, at best, does not have a grasp of reality concerning American Airlines and American Eagle. They are two separate companies with two separate labor contracts and two completely separate labor unions. AA management decides on who gets hired/flows-thru at AA, not the APA. The so-called "flow-thru" from AE to AA is governed by contract. Further, AA has had up to 3000 of its own pilots on furlough for the last 6 years, and, of course, no hiring, hence no pilots from AE. At present there are still almost 2000 APA pilots still on furlough.

With that bit of slander debunked, American Airlines pilots fully supports BA pilots in protecting the profession.

Even to the extent of live feed from the US to witness the message being pounded out on the concourses of JFK etc.
WOW, BA pilots and AA pilots were rallying together in the UK an USA. :ok:

JUST FANTASTIC!!

Fellow AA pilots, what a great job. You certainly set a new standard for supporting the BA pilots.:D

galaxy flyer 16th Mar 2008 02:14

I congratulate the cross pond union cooperation, as a former Eastern pilot (pre-89). Didn't a certain British gentleman with fuzzy beard have his plane posted with No way AA/BA a while back. Guess AA/BA is coming back in a different manner.

Best of Luck, BALPA

TopBunk 16th Mar 2008 08:21

Another vote of huge thanks for our APA cousins from a BA pilot. Very good of you to turn out both at LHR and at various airports in the US.:ok::D:D:D

SortieIII 16th Mar 2008 11:09

This is a long way from my backyard, but I applaud the AA efforts, and I am in agreement with the sentiments expressed by sick-squid.:ok:

No longer ATC 16th Mar 2008 12:08

Three cheers for the AA blokes from me too...and don't they look cool in those leather jackets??? Thanks chaps...NLA xx

FlyingTom 16th Mar 2008 15:20

Thanks for all the support on Saturday. Thanks for all the pledges to the strike fund too. Quite looking forward to when this thing finally kicks-off. BA can run but they can't hide (behind their lawyers).
