Lufthansa

Hi everyone !!!
It`s still a long and hard way for us
and we all appreciate your encouragement.
It feels good to see that we are not the only ones, who support our demands...
we all have to stick together, because the envy of the public especially in Germany (I guess that`s our mentality ) is disproportionately high. The german press also gives us a hard time.
Thanks for your help, guys!!!
The pay negotiations will be continued today
and if they won`t come to an end, we`ll all gonna have a pretty quite day overhead Germany on Thursday.
I hope that`s fine with you...
Please wish us good luck and the hope that our management finally comes around!!!

Happy landings to everyone,

Take care,Philipp

Full support to LH from scandi-land. Hopefully we will join your struggle soon.
Keep spirits high and airplanes on the ground :)

As far as I am concernd the VC should give more info about the strike (why?) to the public.
Most of the things I heard were from LH-managment, travellers....etc.
so only one opinion comes through the press.
give us more info.

Basically itīs because - even with raises in since then - we are now at ca. 98% paylevels of 1992 (first chart).

Some nice charts on the VC-website, albeit in German:

hourly pay development since 1991 compared to inflation and average pay ("Durchschnitt AN Einkommen") in Germany:

http://www.vcockpit.de/pages/tarif/d...hnittseink.doc

average blockhours flown in 1999:

http://www.vcockpit.de/pages/tarif/d...tsleistung.doc

monthly pay development since 1991 compared to inflation and average pay ("Durchschnitt AN Einkommen") in Germany - "more hours for same pay" after 1991 not considered):

http://www.vcockpit.de/pages/tarif/d...turveraend.doc

Back then we agreed to a pay cut of ca. 28% on the hourly rates, because DLH was in need of cash.
We were "promised" to have that put back to "normal" once company was "working" again.
DLH has been quite profitable for a few years now, and the promise just never materialized.

Basis for the demands are the results of a benchmark-study conducted by VC and DLH in two seperate working groups during the last year
Both (!!) found out, that we make ca. 28% less on average than our competitors/ similar airlines.
(These charts are not for the public...)
They didnīt even factor in taxes, cost of living etc., which would have made the gap look even bigger.

Thatīs it, in a nutshell...

for the charts...what a pain, getting those links right!
