Ryanair tyre burst at MAN
Rwy blocked for some 5-6 hours today from around 8/9am.
Can someone explain to me why the 737-200 which was blocking 24R/06L took so long to be moved off the rwy today. Surely if the tyre/s had already blown, the a/c could be towed away from the active and then be refitted with new tyres once clear. Even if a tow was out of the question could a tyre have been "borrowed" from one of the many engineering stores at MAN. I gather the a/c was static until spares were flown in from Dublin! Am I missing some information? I hate to think how much airline money was effectively wasted in extra fuel due holding for arriving traffic. |
RF,
see the thread headed Trouble at Man Today, at the top of Rumours, you will be as amazed as I am. |
