Who is the 747-400 Operator in Flight ?

So we all saw the 747-400 jobs advertised in flight this week.

Who are they with then ? SIA, China Southern Freighters, Dargonair, Atlas ?

Who has the news on this one then ?

Roundout 3rd May 2001 18:31

Cirrus is Mike Bull = Atlas aka AACS aka GSS.

There, does that help?

Virgin were looking for 747 drivers in flight a while back on short contracts, maybe this is the answer.

Roundout : what are the pay and conditions like then? I gather it would be 744's out of LHR or STN then ?

TO ALL CONCERNED!! This add is certainly for GSS the new UK arm of Atlas, same contract as per the AACS crews doing the BA freight contract.......look before you leap!! into this one, the add is misleading they are ONLY looking for 400 endorsed people.....

Hey all you AACS boys and girls out there, how do you like having your jobs shopped around, starting to feel kind of used--abused--or just confused? Well you cannot say that all of you were not warned, Bull and the back room boys really ARE looking out for your best interest! HAH!

From "The Globe" Vol 8.3, April 2001 (Atlas Air's own in-house propoganda tool): GSS will dry-lease (aircraft, maintenance and insurance - no crew) two previously N-registered 747-400s from Atlas Air. They will also "hire" some of their pilots from AACS, some of whom came from Atlas mainline. GSS will then wet-lease (ACMI) those same aircraft to BA, and will take over Atlas' old contract with BA at the same time. They will carry carge between Europe and both Asia and North America. Atlas is 49% share holder in GSS.

All sounds a bit too complicated for me but thanks for the information everyone.

Good luck, I personally seek the simple life.
