Red Star on Chinese Warplanes :
The national emblem of a red star on all warplanes of the Peoples Republic of China is interesting because not only is it a symbol of visual recognition it is also a message. Contained within the borders of the star are two figures that represent a significant date in Chinese history. The lower horizontal line is the Chinese character for One and the upper inverted Vee is the Chinese character for Eight. Together they make 1-8 or 1st August 1927. The 1927 is omitted because every adult person in China knows what happened on 1st August 1927. It is sufficient to say 1-8. KIFIS |
Wouldn't that depend on which form of calender they use?

I'll bite:
What did happen 1/8/27? |
Here we go again, KIFIS the Commie from Oz about to tell us all how bloody wonderful The Peoples Republic is.
