Stansted

Good news...Stansted is the worlds fastest growing airport at 26.6%, closly followed by Milan's Malpensa and Jakarta in Indonesia.
Now, if only someone would build an airport at Luton... http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/aircraft/pigflys.gif

That's good news but unless they decide to expand, the single runway will eventually constrain it.

Perhaps you might inform the CAA that Liverpool's 50%+ increase in passenger numbers last year did not happen, then!

This Stansted report is for the top 100 airports only.

How apt for Luton, a flying pink pig!

Captain C152 10th Jun 2001 19:08

Ringwayman,

Did easyJet get TWO passengers last year!?!? :)

I don't know where these figures came from but the latest annual figures (for the years 1999/2000) published by ACI shows Liverpool to be "The Fastest Growing Airport in the World" and is as follows:

1st Liverpool 62%
2nd Antalya 51%
3rd Sharm el Sheikh 49.3%
4th Luxor 33.3%
5th Hurgada 26.2%
6th Stansted 25.6%

If you started with one movement a week and went to two, you would beat all of that lot.

Statistics, eh?

dwlpl 12th Jun 2001 17:19

More stats.

Since our orange friends arrived in Liverpool approx 43 months ago (October 1997) the AVERAGE monthly increase in passengers is over 43%.

I agree with Unwell_Raptor, who cares about statistics as Vic Reeves once said "99% of statistics are made up on the spot!". Lets see some proper numbers and we'll make our own decision.

Perhaps they will build one or two decent hotels in the area to save regular nightstoppers from that awful hilton place.
