A billion Dollar loss .....
Alitalia, the Italian airline struggling to prevent bankruptcy, on Tuesday estimated its 2004 losses were EUR850 million (USD$1.11 billion), but warned the final figure could change partly because of accounting rules. I wonder if Willie Walsh and his Buddies would fancy a few years in Italy? |
Billion? Maybe they meant Lire
|
Well, the $ is somewhat depreciated nowadays....

I cannot see how accounting rules could paint a $1.1bn loss in any rosier picture than the reality!!
Though awful to say for the jobs involved etc, but it is surely best to let the thing die now rather than dragging it out and ruining the aviation market further? |
