Topup Pay for EZ Swiss
 

Is it true?
That the EZ Swiss guys recieved an additional payment for the lack of sectors flown due EZ UK training in the last few months?

So that will be sector pay that you get for flying sectors, replaced by sector pay you get for not flying sectors. Makes complete sense. Can I have some please, I didn't fly 6 sectors today.

And since we had our private forum taken away were would one suggest we ask these questions if not on a forum?

The best place to get the answer for this question is surely from EZ at LTN or EZ Swiss.

If the questioner works for EZ, that should be very simple and indeed quicker. If he/she doesn't, why the question?

What we all must remember is the Swiss are genetically superior to all other races. Therefore they should be given preferentual treatment. Nothing wrong with that is there?

So in future if anyone needs questions asked about technical details of boeings they should go straight to boeing, should someone like to know the conditons of employment within a company go straight to that company?

So whats the point in pprune, and since when were any of your questions answered when you went straight to the company in question?

er...Yes! But if you want to know what it's like to operate that aircraft within the company environment, ask the crews - via PPrune if you want.

Also Yes. But if you want to know how those terms and conditions are implemented and 'received' by the workforce, ask the workforce - via PPrune if you want.

What earthly difference does it make whether they got any sort of sector pay compensation or not?

Must be a hot topic........ if everybody jumps on it like a horse over the barrier.
To ask here is sometimes better then ask direct and get blackmarked for asking the right person the right question and getting the wrong answer and the wrong consequence. Honest persons who ask honestly do deserve a honest answer!. The set tone makes the musik..... I do not see anything affending in asking such a pay related question who could affect other branches in the same company as well. Be good to each other and don`t restrict your tolerance.

Not sure if the rumour is true or not, but when EZS was selected as the 'testbed' for Airbus introduction to easyJet there were always going to be issues around the amount of flying done at certain times of the introduction programme.

The Swiss crews appear to have had a dramatic reduction in the level of flying recently due to the influx of UK crews getting ready for those deliveries. I wouldn't be surprised if there has been some adjustment.

I believe that most of the flying with ezy swiss was during jan & feb so i dont think it is still an issue.
Regarding the easy swiss crew food, well i dont rate it much at all. More often than not you were thrown a sick bag with a small ham roll, a small cheese roll and a couple of pastries that were short on the sugar levels, the main meals were nothing special either, dont know why all the hype about the food. I actually prefer the alpha sarnies and food at lgw thanks.

Man Flex, wish I could agree with you on the Food issue in GVA but I would trade the Alpha crap anytime...
Lots of EZY UK pilots have lost out seriously on sector pay and flying hours during the Bus intro so would be interesting to see whether the TopSwiss dudes got any compensation...

Hey springbok courses for horses et all i guess. I agree with the second part though but i guess thats all part and parcel. I sat round for most of feb doing v little, but cant complain.

Don't work for EZY but thinking about it,overheard some EZY guys saying they thought EZy Swiss had recieved a bonus for not flying and just wanted to check on how the Company handled the two operations.

Find it somewhat interesting - people whingeing about doing too much work, now about not doing enough. It's what you have said all along Flaps....

It would be an interesting precedent, but not unheard of in majors where pass over pay and other such compensations are in force. If your income is reduced through no fault of your own, and no doubt the EZ swiss crews spent weeks on SBY instead, there is a case for compensation.

Now, and here is a thought, over the past few years many F/O's were taken off their rosters to allow new pilot training. Their actual salary was well short of the monthly income they were told to expect when joining. and what their roster originally planned to give them. I wonder if they can now claim lost earnings. They did not receive free time in lieu but spent days on useless SBY.

The Swiss are no walkovers - unlike Balpa.

Worked for both of them - EZY and EZS - for about 18 months each on my 3 year stint.

Pay: Pay started at a franc equivalent of UK pay - stagnated when the UK pay went up and no amount of representations could change that - even though Geneva is (or was) the second most expensive city in Europe.

Food: Food (Gate Gourmet) was magnificent in EZS - the problem was trying to organise your flight to allow time to eat it properly. Quite an improvement on the bacon and beans / sausage and beans / omlette and beans and beans and beans of Alpha.

Flight duty: the Swiss regs applied to EZS - actually allowing 100 block hrs per month. Didn't happen too often. EZS actually came from TEA Swiss originally and had quite a laid back charter mentality - rather than the go-go mentality of EZY. They soon got the hang of it though.

Attitude: There was in GVA a fair bit of distrust of the HQ in LTN - a not undeserved feeling of being the forgotten base - and the language difference didn't help. There were some very good operators there though (in LTN too, it has to be said) and they were a good choice for the A319 intro. This may help cement things on the ops side.

This info is based on conditions just over a year ago.
