FlyBE skipper has air traffic controller arrested

Have just heard something on Radio Clyde about an ATC bod who was arrested after the captain of a FlyBE flight got the nark when the ATC bod kept pestering for a jumpseat ride.

I wasn't really listening to the story so I may have the details a bit confused, but I can't find anything on the usual news websites, anyone got anymore details?

* The ET article does confuse Flybe with BMI.

Why do these people get "arrested then released"? This muppet's airside pass should be withdrawn IMMEDIATELY...full marks to the Skipper, crew, etc involved, whether it was Fly BE or BMI Regional.

I was unlucky enough to be on this flight which eventually got into BHX approx 2HRS late. This usually wouldn't have bothered me except I had an onward 3hrs to Devon to follow.
Anyway, back to the events....The aircraft (Q 400 Dash 8) arrived at GLA a bit late due to refuelling prob at BHX and we all (34 pax) boarded pretty quickly. Taxied out and held for an unusually long time at the threshold before commander announces that we have a "technical fault" and are returning to the terminal building. Engines are shut down and police board to remove the 'suspect' who was sitting right at the front, seat 1C or 2C. I was sat pretty close to the rear in 19D so couldn't tell exactly which row he was in. Cabin crew were pretty good in keeping us informed of what was going on. Interestingly after the 'suspect' was removed another pax a couple of rows in front of me suddenly remembered seeing the 'suspect tampering with bags with another man at the check-in desks'. This was reported to the crew and the pax was invited by the police to have a look round the terminal to try and identify the other man. I suspect it was a case of a story growing wings. PAX and bags removed from flight and the rest of the journey was uneventful. Nice AC the dash 8.

Thanks to crew and airport authorithies. Well handled siruation.
