Manchester Airport PLC is planning to spend £1 billion on construction over the next fifteen years to accommodate a predicted increase in passengers. It is estimated that the number of passengers using the airport will double to 40 million a year by 2015. The airport is currently tendering the upgrade of baggage handling in its Terminals 1 and 2, an approximately £30M contract. In addition, it plans to spend £150M on the extension of Terminal 2's West Pier and new aprons for aircraft stands, £100M on new satellite stands for Terminal 2, and £50-60M on building a link between Terminals 1 and 2. :D or :( ?
