Ryanair Line training delays

Hi guys,

Anyone know how long Ryanair line training delays are at the moment? Any other concerns?

4-6 months, and the TR sim training is being delayed as well. From what I gather, accepting the contract to work in the right-hand seat takes around 9-11 months. This is subject to if u are in RUK or DAC. There are guys who are dropping out mid-training to join another airline, both EASA and ICAO holders from cadet to DEFO and maybe DEC level. I'm not sure if this is legit; a lot of he says and she says. Training is heavily affected by the lack of line training captains. Just FYI, I don't work there just a lot of coffee room talk. Personally, I think they will fix all these problems by early spring next year as they are not sitting on the bums and doing nothing.

I doubt it since the student terminated the contract. To be fair, I doubt Ryanair is losing sleep for some cadets to leave as they know a lot of them know some of cadets are just using Ryanair as a stepping stone to the national carrier and others. Also, cadets are a dime a dozen and easy to replace with an abundant supply in the EU in general. If they are serious about the growth of the cadet pilot pool, they would have to use bonds with a heavy early exit penalty to stop the leak or with a bond duration completion bonus to entice people to stay. When a pilot stays in the airline for more than X number of years, the likelihood of change is much lower as you are comfortable and committed, but that is my 2-cent view. It worked back then, and then they had the 5k bond in 2018. It's another time and another phase of Ryanair, and they are planning to up the TR cost, apparently. The contract doesn't have a delay clause due to training problems. So they delay as much as they can to match their capacity. Given they are targeting ICAO/ EASA/ UK CAA captains, they are trying to solve the problem. It's a tricky problem to solve. I feel bad for them. They must be under a lot of pressure to fix it. Since the recruitment department is well versed in the pilot market, I can see they know where to find those DEC and DEFO. Hint hint their international roadshow. It would be an interesting next 6 to 9 months to see the direction that Ryanair takes. I can see a perfect storm brewing in the background for the whole pilot recruitment in the EU market. It's a good time to be patient and see the chain effect. And as always, it's my opinion with shaky information to draw the connections, so take it with a massive grain of salt.
