Surely this will result in an increase in drag?

It's not as if they are being made to do it, that would be a problem. It's a choice, like perfume (after shave?), hair gel/brylcreem, moisturiser etc...

Not all bad!

Many years ago,I remember an airline pilot getting burned by doing his `oxygen ` preflight checks, because he had a waxed moustache.....
Think of the cost of fitting all the `vanity` mirrors in the cockpit for the cockpit crew....and the `non-reflective paint,or MFDs to prevent any `upskirting` of the pilot`s bits....`Oooh,er Missus....`

That is indeed what it is. Woke Bollocks. Along with all the neo pronoun horse****.
Having once had the occasion to suffer a dépressurisation ( albeit a slow burner but just North of Goose so it caught the attention ) I’d love to see the result of glitter/ shimmer/ lip gloss etc etc on the individuals face when they don pure oxygen. Something which they are presumably conveniently ignoring.
I suppose one could argue it’s all cyclical. Citizens in the Georgian era wearing wigs, powder and face powder. Although that was primarily to hide the pox marks. !!!

I think the change is to relax the rules regarding gender of the crew, not their role. Presumably female flight crew are already permitted to wear full glitter/shimmer/lip-gloss/false nails and piercings. Which is nice.

Regarding the Georgian-wig thing, the only problem I can foresee would be finding a compatible headset. Presumably on a Bose or David Clark wig it could all be integrated.

Imagine someone you don’t know making their own decision to wear makeup to work, and that actually making you angry enough to come on here and rant. I feel pretty sorry for you to be honest. It has less impact on your life than the thread count of the uniform shirts worn by Canberra’s municipal bus drivers.

This isn’t woke b0ll0cks, it’s boomer bu11****.

Hear hear. It baffles me that some people seem to jump straight to the most extreme and illogical conclusion of what these policies could mean as a justification for their resistance to change.

Exactly.
Why does this bother (some) people so much.
There are many occupations that are not limited to angry old white men.

ShyTorque. Pure genius by the way. Well played. 😁 😁

Because, secretly, they are just jealous they didn't have the opportunity to wear makeup during their flying careers.

Just cosmetic make up or can you go full on face paint like Mel Gibsons Wallace for those rough approaches out of Prestwick ?
“They can take Oor lives , but they will never take oor slot into Heathrow “
Sad that red noses were only allowed for comic relief day , perfect for reducing olfactory offences being committed by those bubble and squeak connoisseurs ( pronounced connysewers )

Grease and liquid oxygen do not mix. Imagine if this was your face.
