Do it correctly.

Suction cup stuck to the glass in one's immediate front with the camera looking forward screwed to the bendy arm thingy which is secured by the cup. Fly and ignore the camera. The arraignment gives a good result and over the years I've built up an archive of TO/ App/ Ldg/ Taxi video. But don't try to fly by looking through the camera as things will then become a bit wobbly. Actually, things will become extremely very wobbly indeed. (You've been warned.)

I think this kind of thing happens everyday now, not saying its right of course but I guess the job has become so repetitive and mind numbing that this is what people resort to

If you have a real passion for flying, it will always be a fascinating profession. Not ever mind numbing.

Agree. I use a dashcam (too poor to afford a go pro). All my hand held videos are too wobbly.

And not one comment on the absolute stupidity of someone approving or allowing a Fireworks repeat Fireworks display just meters off the centreline of an ILS approach to an RPT Jet transport Airport. Jesus Wept !,, forget about the stupidity of the Pilots filming ....!

I can't say how it is regulated in any other country, but for us in Finland it is regulated: the organizer has to make an application for the use of fireworks to the local safety authorities well in advance, stating eg area in which the show is to be held and explain that it does not jeopardise any form of traffic, whether in the air or on the ground.
in essence, if one would apply for a fireworks permit next to an active runway short finals, it would most probably be denied by authorities.

As stated, I have no knowledge how it works in any other country, but I would imagine it works somewhat the same way in most countries.

some people tend to think it is flak, there was an article that in UK alone, during this millennium, there has been several direct hits of fireworks leaving scorch marks on aircrafts.
