But Ok, I understand it is all about marketing.
Don't be such a killjoy.

Personally, I can't wait:

Circa 1960's in-flight service with flight attendants dressed in period uniforms would be rather pleasant too!
Some circa 1960s rosters would be even more pleasant. What did they do back then I wonder, 450 a year on short haul, 500 long haul?

It's just amazing how much the retro liverys enhance aircraft performance.

American has done a few recently: https://www.air-and-space.com/20150411%20PHX/20150411%20PHX_BL33023%20737-823%20N951AA%20American%20Astrojet%20right%20front%20take-off%20l.jpg

Whilst welcome, I would prefer to see BA bring back the VC10 for the BOAC paint job.

Probably the best looking aircraft of all time. Used to fly on them as a kid LGW - EBB - NBO with BUA.

LOL. So British Airways will be celebrating their “100th birthday” , by NOT painting British Airways on their retro livery. Really says it all, don’t you think?
We will be celebrating october when KLM reaches its REAL centennial.

From my photo archives. I inherited a large number of BEA/BOAC press photos at the time of the merger. Ironically I had the opportunity to
give BA something in return. The BA press Office in Frankfurt was unable to meet the enquiries from journalists, authors, etc., so I provided
all the photo material from my archives, which I gladly did. For years, and free of charge, of course.

Aren't the current BA 747s already retro enough as they are?

Yes the last remnants of Ayling's grafitti days.

You find what you are looking for in the British Airways Media Website. In those days they were called stewardesses and stewards.
I think they still are, at least in British Airways.

Is this a "what if" or confirmed as one of the schemes being used?

The BOAC Speedbird logo is still flying . . .

This Groppo Trail was built by a retired VC10 captain.

None of the other aircraft's schemes have been confirmed, but it would seem reasonable that the BOAC 747 will be accompanied by another aircraft in one of the BEA schemes (in which case it would logically be the A319 rather than another 747, as per my earlier post).

While there are of course several BEA schemes to choose from, the two in use at the time BOAC got its first 747s were the Red Square livery and the "Speedjack" scheme. I hope it turns out to be the former.
