BA2578 Mayday - diverted to CDG

Flew in the same area yesterday afternoon as BA2578, and followed their Mayday call due to “electrical smell in cockpit, but no smoke” and division to CDG.

Very calm and collected BA crew on the radio 👍

Anyone has more information on what caused the electrical smell in cockpit + type of aircraft ?

Aircraft was G-GATH. It positioned back to Gatwick earlier today and has now returned to service.
