The Be200's MTOW is only about 80% of the AG600's 53,000Kg.

What happened to the Beriev BE-200? It is not small.
Still very much around and about to be re-engined. Much underrated imho - and I've seen it at work.

Considering the Shin Meiwa US-1A was at 45000kg way back in 1967, It's not an impressive development in MTOW, the configuration is also exhibits little that is new, though I'm sure it will show greater advances in economy and serviceability
