Bob Hoover RIP

R. A. “Bob” Hoover, called the “greatest stick-and-rudder pilot who ever lived” by Lt. Gen. James Doolittle, USAF (Ret.), died peacefully of heart and kidney failure early Oct. 25, 2016, at Torrance Hospital, near his home in Palos Verdes, Calif. He was a favorite performer at air shows around the world, thrilling his audiences with his precision aerobatic maneuvers in the North American Aircraft P-51 Mustang and Aero Commander Shrike.

A legend

Edit, just found the video of Bob pouring a cup of iced tea, backhanded during a barrel roll on youtube here

Does anybody know at what stage is "FLYING THE FEATHERED EDGE: The R.A. Bob Hoover's project"?

All I can find are short trailers on the tube. A priviledge to have him signing my baseball cap at Reno 1998!

Now lets wait for the film. Is Robert Redford too old? He did play Waldo Pepper. I guess we'd need about 3-5 different Bob's to cover the full story. Come on Tom Hanks or Cruise or some Hollywood guy, even Clint. Get on and make a REAL aviation hero movie.
Here's to The GOAT. (he was dubbed the WGFP - world's greatest fighter pilot. but Greatest Of All Time also fits.)
