Holy mother of god, my house was spared by 3 blocks. The way the fire raced down the mountain I was convinced it was gone. The friddge didn't even turn to sludge on the inside.
It looks like that ugly old quarry scar was the thing that saved us. With 65mph winds there was not much that could otherwise be done.
