SairGroup taken over
It was in the swiss TV today.
The SAIRGroup will be taken over by the italian Volare Group. The italian member of the Qualifyer Group will take 79,9% of the SairGroup,creating the new Volare/SairGroup.
It was confirmed that the long haul opration will be done by the Volare Group and Swissair togather with Crossair will concentrate on the european routes.
Swissair will stay a swiss company with the good and very well known service but it may be possible that the headquater of SairGroup will move to Thiene, to the Volare Group headquater, by end of the year
The order of 11 A380 for the new Volare/SairGroup was not confirmed, but it was said there will be a desicion by end of the week.
There were no news about the other SairGroup companys, like Sabena which is in financial trouble as well but it is very likly that the german leisure airline LTU will be closed by end of the summer.
