Mr. Dillon said that he comfirmed he would not be caught up in the April 1st thing. I assume this is something to with RYR starting their year on April 1st. (if you can't take a joke you shouldn't have joined. You don't have to have a sense of hmour to work there, but it helps).

What exactly is this catch out, and surely he can not be the only one, if there is indeed such a gottcha? Is this the opening of the door of opportunity to others?

I have heard RYR have redfined the definition of week, 6 months and year all to their own advantage. Might this decision cause them to live in the same world as the rest of us, where a 7 day period, 6 month period and 12 month period is just that and has nothing to do with the calender?

Perhaps Mr Dillon had his eyes more wide open than others who had joined RYN and he asked the right questions. If you get promises at interview then back them up with emails to confirm what you are told. Sounds to me he is a smart guy who did all the right things. A lesson for all those who just say yes at the appropriate times then get shafted later. Reap what you so wannabes.

This truly saddens me. Forgive me for being a little naive but what I see happening in this industry just saps the very soul and enthusiasm that I have long held for the job I do.

However it is not an isolated example of employee abuse. The general corporate culture at large, now seems to regard employees as expendable as toilet paper. I hope we can all look forward to the day when we see a change in this and some return to trust, compassion, rewards for loyalty and service during the companies lean times.

Much like customer service (or lack of it) people grow weary when their legitimate needs are not met but lack the wherewithall to change it.

May God give us the Grace and Patience to look forward to better times.
