"The device removed is useful but we can fly without it ... I don't think it will affect the operation of the aircraft at all," said Terry Lutz, the plane's captain and head test pilot for Airbus.
Don't Think? Real words of confidence.

It's not a Thai Airways A380. It's one of Airbus' test aircraft. Maybe partially with a Thai logo.

Clipping of its own wings seems to be the fashion du jour these days, after the accidents in Dong Mong between TG and SQ earlier and two SQ's lately...

That photo in the French discussion board (from Palyvestre's post) - is that fair dinkum (warily looks about for any US flight attendants... ) in TG get-up or is a PhotoShop jobbie? Even looks to have HS- rego.

Taildragger,

99.9% certain that a photoshop effort, was in TLS the other week and there were no TG 380's around anywhere near completion

It's definitely a photoshopped picture. The last messages in the discussion board linked to by Palyvestre clearly spell it out. There is even a picture of the A380 in Airbus colors at BKK airport, minus wingtips.
