Talking How long can you stay up?

FWIW a barely readable article in today's USA Today about United's 821 JFK - HKG - longest commercial air route in operation - beats CAL's EWR - HKG by 2 miles. 15 hours and 45 minutes by sked.

Never knew the Air Bags warm F class bread rolls to lie on during their breaks.

Whatever next?! (Actually the company plans to replace the 747-400 with the 777 on the JFK/HKG route in November and close the -400 pilot domicile too - loss of earnings galore!) I guess Boeing two holers are the big winners.

I think I was a better pilot when I was flying night freight, 14-16 hours a day, five days in a row. Now I have cushy five hour legs once a day with lots of days off. Do you think you have more of an edge when you're aware of the danger of your fatigue than you do when life is easy?

Cool

Fatigue is like alcohol. The longer you've been at work the less qualified you are to make the decision that you're too tired to continue. BenThere, you were probably too tired to care about the dangers.

Thumbs up

Hey Rogaine Addict, with addictions like that you know too well the halucinations due to fatigue.

Had some wonderful halucinations at the first World Champ Rogaine back in 92?.

Regards from a keen Aussie rogainer.

Exclamation

How long can I stay up? I beg you pardon, but I think thats a rather personal question don't you think?

Haven't read the content of the thread but thought I should better step in immediately, after reading the title, before things really get out of hand.

15 hours?! - Easy life. I remember a few years back going HKG-LHR in 17 Hours 10 Mins. These days Virgin go direct but back then it was up to Japan and over the top of Russia. A long day that was.
