Unfortunately not a good day at all for the South-American Aviation Community, even for the World Aviation...

these poor chaps have just been involved in an accident, quite possibly not of their own making. Either way, it's probably the most traumatic day of their career. They won't want to be pictured (and identified) to the world. Remove that picture quick smart.
Moderators, if check 6 won't do it, I think you should.

Ok Camelhair...its done now, "my pics" were just removed...but its not my fault those pics to be remaining in the newspapers, news sites or TV/Media..

That depends what the photo's are of.
Although there are a lot worst things that could be put on this forum, I am in agreement with 'Camelhair', I don't need to see pictures of the crew thank you.
I would be more interested though, in knowing why it ended up where it did. It doesn't look weather related to me.........I'll wait for the report.

Apparently it was wx related. Landed in heavy rain. Most probably a (tropical) shower, hence the sunshine in the photos after the mishap. As for photos of the crew, if taken by a member of the public (even one of the pax maybe) and handed over to the press there's not much you can do about it. The F/O talking on his cellphone may open up an interesting caption competition on Jetblast though.

There's nothing I can do about it with regard to the press but I don't expect them to be posted on Pprune by another pilot !!
Posting pictures of the pilots serves nothing apart from allowing others to take a cheap shot at them as is evident on here.
As I have said, I am more interested in learning from this one and what indeed caused the incident as I currently fly this type with a large airline. I am not interested in pointing fingers and having a laugh at there expense.

Not sure I'd want to be using the left rear slide in this situation though! Anyone with alternative language skills to mine care to enlighten us further as to the circumstances?

The Portugese news item said "skidded off runway during heavy rain".
Looking at the pictures and the state of the aircraft you'd almost think he just turned the wrong way in tropical rainstorm zero-zero visibility, and rolled down the embankment, with very little damage to the aircraft.
And now that the photo is around the net anyway, here's another one for the caption competition.
"The plane?...... The plane is fine, just a bit wet...... No, it's fine! I just want to know how to get reimbursed for my uniform jacket. It's RUINED!"

Six people were injured today when a Colombian plane with 54 people on board skidded off the runway on landing and slammed nose-first into the sea in the Caribbean coastal city of Santa Marta, local officials said.
The Aerorepublica airliner broke through the fence at the end of the runway at Simon Bolivar airport after landing in driving rain, airport officials said.
The passengers were evacuated via emergency chutes at the front of the plane, they said.
Six people were slightly injured in the accident, they said.
One of the passengers, Antonio Jose Valencia told RCN radio that the accident happened on the second landing attempt, when the plane touched down mid-way down the runway.
"The runway was wet, and with all that wind the plane could not stop and went straight before turning on its side with its nose ending up in the water," he added.
The plane with a crew of five took off earlier from Cali, 500 kilometres southeast of Bogota. Santa Marta is located 950 kilometres north of Bogota.
