Not sure I'd want to be using the left rear slide in this situation though!
On the other hand, maybe the six folk who were hurt weren't thinking along those lines...
It's indeed impressive that the aeroplane could drive in like that apparently unscathed. One wonders if they were able to extract it without bending or breaking something, though!
I predict insurance write off for this particular e190.

Boy do I love the E-Jets and I'm glad to see that it can take some beating.
Hell I wouldnt be suprised if they pulled that thing up, duct taped the nose (you can see damage there), super glued everything else and took-off right there. No such thing as written off in South America. In South America Super glue is King and Duct tape is Lord.

You must be joking. This is South America! Nothing a little super glue won't fix. It's probably back on line as I type this.

Anyone with followup with this incident as to what happened to the plane? I would assume that if the fuselage was intact and the main wing spars, that this bird was certainly worth saving.
“The runway was wet, and with all that wind …”
“… landing in driving rain …”
“… the plane touched down mid-way down the runway …”
These contributing factors are all in ‘Managing the Threats and Errors during Approach and Landing’, there is also some good safety advice.
Also think about the approach and landing; don’t ask can we make the landing – instead ask should we be making this landing in these conditions.
