AEROFLOT - intends to acquire 4 x DC10F's fm Apr2002.
AEROLINEAS ARGENTINAS - filed for bankruptcy 21/06/2001 - all Int'l flights suspended except MAD. Domestics continue while SEPI, the airline owner looks for a buyer.
AIR TRAN - intends to remove 4 x 737-200's from service by Sep 2001.
ALISEA - New Italian carrier based PMO plans to acquire 2 x 737's and a DC10 and intends to op Sicily-USA.
AMERICAN AIRLINES - will cease ORD-FCO 01/11/2001
AOM-AIR LIBERTE - placed into receivership on 19/06/2001 - some ops continue.
AVIANCA - plan to lease 2 x 747-200 RR powered from Pegasus Av'tion for del. late June 2001.
CEBU - canx intent to order 15 x 717's, now considering MD80's to replace DC9 fleet which are due to retire 2003.
CITY BIRD - will cease all L/haul charters by late Oct, the sole 767 will return to Ansett.
CONTINENTAL - plans daily 767-400 svce IAH-AMS fm May 2002
DELTA - will discontinue JFK-LYS August 2001.
EL AL - Intends to sell 6 x 747-200's
ICELANDAIR - plans to terminate KEF/YHZ 25/10/2001.
LADECO - will cease to exist fm Sept 2001, when pax and cargo svces will transfer into LAN Chile.
QANTAS - plans to commence 4 weekly svcs to OSA fm 28/10/2001 using 767-300's. The flights will op from Cairns and Cairns/SYD.
REGAL AIRWAYS - Orlando, Fl - intends to acquire 6 x 737-300's Sept 2001 and poss 2 ex BA 757's.
ROYAL AIR MAROC - will acquire 2 x 767-300's from ILFC with del.in 2002.
SABENA - has deferred delivery 4 x A340-300's and 15 x A319.
SWISSAIR - plans to cease many svces to Asian destinations in Oct 2001, including Shanghai,TPE, Ho Chi Minh City.
TRANSAVIA - plans to dispose of 757 fleet by Nov 2002 and standardise on 737NG fleet.
US Airways - plans to withdraw 1 x DC9-80, 5 X 737-200 AND 7 X DC9-30s during June-August 2001. Airbus a/c will replace these a/c. Will transfer BOS/BWI to its Metrojet subsidary.
