Hugmonster - When you fly an aeroplane that will do over 250kts below 10, then you will understand !

Extra, I have flown aircraft that will exceed the speed limit - don't assume that because I currently don't, I never have!

Red face

CAVOK day - ATC clears a/c for visual approach/no speed control/keep speed up to
the marker/running late.

All of these and many more make the old horns
come out and its game on - trouble is we tend
to forget sometimes that we have lots of
paying punters down the back. As one who has
sat in the back of many a transport aircraft
at low level it can be b-----dy uncomfortable. I try to remember that feeling
and hopefully make my passengers will want to
come back again - surely all airlines would
want the same from their crews - apart from
Easy, at least according to the TV show of
course !

Question

Going off slightly at a tangent~ consider the outcome of a bird strike at high speed:
compare 220 knots against say 320 Knots !

Thumbs down

parkfell: good point.

Xponders: There is currently a proposal very close to implementation that ALL aircraft will be required to carry 'C' Xponders to stop false and nuisance TA's and RA's.
Not my idea.

You won't get an RA from a conflict with an aircraft without Mode C. You can get a TA, but they're not really much of a nuisance, just a reminder to look out more.

Still no reason to justify forcing the expense of Txponders on glider pilots/PFA types etc. Though I'd personally much prefer to have one than not...
