Aircraft carrying hajj pilgrims skids at Juanda airport

SURABAYA (Antara) : A Saudi Arabian airplane carrying Indonesian haj pilgrims from Bangkalan district, Madura island, and from elsewhere in East Java province, skidded on the runway at JuandaAirport on Saturday at 03:50 a.m.

Juanda Airport official Handoko said the incident occurred as the plane was about to take off from the airport.

He said no casualties were reported in the incident but the departure of the flight was delayed by five hours.

He said the plane then took off again at 8:50 a.m.

Was this a SV registered plane or a contract Haj flight flying under Saudia?

Juanda can be quite slippery after a bit of rain, as can Ujung. Used all but a couple of meters there once, landing in the rain.
