twistair What is the engine?

twistair 4th February 2003 06:54

It's name is VAZ-2110. Russian automotive 4-stroke inliner used in "Lada" cars. Pretty heavy but costs nothing and works stable enough.
Nick built this bird at VERY low budget - this is the reason for engine choice

Is'nt this just how Igor got mobile and eventually into much bigger things?

Just one question, has anything been tested!

From my experience with Lada engine and their reliability I think they should stay on ground....:p

My mum learned how to adjust her own timing chain on our Lada. It became so expensive to constantly run it down to the shop...she had no choice.
I take my hat off to these guys.
VERY brave. :)

Well they have to test the autorotational characteristics somehow, right?;)
