The United Kingdoms bid for the Olympics

Sections of our community, want this to take place on Great Britain.
Now as far as I'm concerned; they can only have my tax cash if -
The world helicopter championships are selected as an Olympic event.

So we need to develop particular styles, and points mean prizes. This is seriously unserious
Forced landings----Roofs-----water-----land
Coralling people by helicopter.
Get all those in favour of fox hunting. Put them in a valley, plenty of room for stadium seating. Arm the co pilot with a paint ball gun, the team with the most same coloured splattered targets win the gold. More points for direct hits on red jackets!
Should we allow the Australians to participate: I have seen what they can do cattle mustering, with an R22 in and out of the avoid curve?

Let your imagination run.
Think and create a giggle

You'll need some track and field events...

Tossing the Robinson?

Steve76 29th January 2003 22:25

Helicopter high jump :}

Barannfin 29th January 2003 22:40

Sure you COULD toss a robinson, but wouldn't it be more fun to watch which pilot got his passenger to blow chunks/ **** pants, first? Xtra points if you manage it while still on the ground ;)

A 10km pursuit round a standard running track would be good spectator sport- especially if you caught up...

Sort of Rotor Rollerball

pohm1 30th January 2003 02:27

Fitting through the narrowest gap-attitude left to pilot discretion.

Helicopter limbo ?

Fastest post-ditching evacuation ( a la Q ) ?

What Limits 30th January 2003 08:42

Quidditch in helicopters!

The Nr Fairy 30th January 2003 09:02

Another one. Helicopter tag. Needs a reasonably wooded area with lots of gaps / breaks. No flight with rotorhead above treetop level, and best played in summer when there's foliage to block the view.

Happy Landing ! 30th January 2003 11:39

Disc-Cus Throwing !

Tug o' war. Tie two helos together, lift into the hover simultaneously and drift backwards...

oops sorry, the aussies have tried this already;)

Long distance gliding. Each competitor flies to a 10,000ft hover, then switches the donk(s) off. Whoever glides the furthest, wins.
[in auto...before you ask:rolleyes: ].

How about Flying Gardening, what.
Points awarded for trimming those damnable leylandie. A good way of testing rotor blades.
Another whisky, don't mind if I do :=

Hammer Throwing

Attach hammer to main rotor, then crank up :ooh:

Fencing

Pax rides "doors off" and attempts to whack opponent with scaffolding pole :ok:

The Disney Doubles in Spindle Throwing.....course the Sikorsky team using 61's would be the house favorite to win!
