Winch Operator Training Manuals?

Hi all,

I'm looking for some winch operator training manuals online. I have found a few scattered around online but they seem like they are more working drafts than anything final or official. Does anyone here know where I can access a current manual? I'm interested to see how other places train their winchmen!
Thanks!

I suspect that the OP is on about a different sort of winching - vertically, out of the side of a helicopter!

Yes, my apologies folks - I'm looking for winching or hoisting operations, e.g., helicopter hoist rescues!
Thanks in advance!

I suspect that most training manuals of any value are closely held by their owners since a lot of work goes into producing one and they would be the property of those that paid to have it made.

I'd be surprised if you can source anything that's any good for free.

Good, accurate winch operator's patter is a key element of safe and successful winching - oh,:ok: and a pilot who listens and follows that patter too.

Says it ALL, in one simple post. :ok:
Things will, undoubtedly, have changed somewhat over the years - equipment, especially, but the basics are still the same. Every incident is unique and 'played by ear'. Certainly, we used no manuals - all practical training, save for first aid.... only used "UP,UP, UP" once ! ! !
