Post flight medical

Need a clarification. Is there a time frame for post flight alcohol test in India for an offshore helicopter pilot who has completed a night halt in an oil rig in a controlled environment? If yes, where is it written and if not, what would be its correct procedure.

My suggestion would be checking with the appropriate authority in India

Sounds suspiciously like someone has fallen foul of a test and is looking for wriggle room.

They have booze offshore in India?

So your drunk, fly a helicopter off an oil rig, and then get tested? What could possibly go wrong?

I think some people have read your question incorrectly I hope. In a few countries pre and post flight offshore you are tested for alcohol, do you mean can they come and find you a few hours after work for example when your back at your hotel or residence to test you?

Ok, so let me expand this further. Every offshore pilot is task to do a production flight which is either it happens from morning to evening or from evening doing a night halt in an oil rig and returning back to solid ground the next day within 12 hours after the commencement of the flight. In every task the pilot does the pre-flight alcohol BA test but for any crew doing a night halt has to do post flight test after finishing the flight the next day as the oil rigs do not have the facility available for the test. So now my question is what is the time frame for the post flight medical after the end of the last landing? Can it go till the 12th hour of the total duty period or there is a specific limit to it?

I only ask because my regulations i.e. DGCA do not give a clear answer to it as its told to do it at the aircraft but for helicopter pilots video recording is needed as for non-scheduled operator which we do not have so we do the necessary post flight inspections, formalities and documentations. Pilots have lost track of time considering he/she has been flying in a hostile environment doing 20-30 landings. And lets not forget that its a controlled workplace too, so alcohol is strictly prohibited by the client. No way to get positive result on the test.
