Watch out for those huuuge cliffs....
:p
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/pprune....5ca90f6615.jpg The Puma from 33 Squadron in Akrotiri practises winching over the bases cliffs |
They are SH mates not SARboys so best to ease them in gently :)
|
Ahh bless - they think they are doing SAR so let's not burst their bubble. Better this than they do real SAR training and have an accident caused by a skill deficiency.
|
They’re actually at 3,000 feet, as everyone knows the downwash of the Puma is huge.
|
It's a very high spring tide...
|
They are probably searching for the missing apostrophe…..
|
Ah ! ... using the nursery slopes, I see.
Long time no see, but, for 'playtime' we used to use 120' extension straps to winch onto 'Bog Rock' in Dreamer's Bay. ... that was with the Whirly, of course. Is the 'Bog Rock' ceramic ware still there ? Happy days :) |
The bog was cemented onto the rock back in 69 during my time on 1563 Flt. Seem to remember that Joe McC was involved. Some excellent photographs of him sitting on the bog did the rounds; I wonder if they have survived?
Happy carefree days. |
