SAR Netherlands

Looks like the legal wranglings are over and Bristow will start in 2022.

This news page from 18 July is the first in which is mentioned that Bristow would be winner and NHV would have challenged that decision.
Airfield Arnemuiden is a possible 2nd base.

Do we know what type of platform NHV offered?
Using Google translate, it sounds like Bristow offered the 189.

I agree with your translation, obviously i don't think NHV would have gone with their present aircraft type.

Given their history I’d guess the H175

212man is right. H175 for NHV and BRS 189.

Interesting choice, apart from HK who else is using the 175 for SAR?

nowherespecial 22nd August 2021 11:27

Lots of government agencies globally are looking at it but to my knowledge none at the moment. AH sales are under huge pressure to find homes for it but the hourly is high and it doesn’t have a solid body of work yet so few are prepared to take that chance.

Yes a bit pricey! Bristow have a long lead in time to start the contract so it should all go well. I believe they operated S61 last time they held the contract. Apart from the UK there are a few other SAR/LimSAR contracts coming up. Long term beats short term oil and gas any day!
