Third helicopter on third row, the Fenestron background needs correcting. Otherwise an absolute awesome piece of work.

Redland 29th July 2021 08:42

The Welsh 135 is no longer the children’s air ambulance it is used for HEMS one of the 145s does air ambulance and HEMS. Looking awesome

KiwiNedNZ 29th July 2021 18:22

Redland - There are photos on Wales Air Ambulance facebook page of their EC135 showing Childrens markings on the front door ?

Redland 30th July 2021 00:30

I don’t think the markings have changed, not certain, but all aircraft are primary HEMS, with one of the 145s doing transfers when required.

KiwiNedNZ 30th July 2021 01:57

Ok so we should just have it on the poster as the EC135 Wales Air Ambulance and leave the Childrens bit off the title.

Yep that sounds good. Great work and looking good

Spanish Waltzer 30th July 2021 07:36

Think it looks great Ned. Quick thought and by no means a criticism but if you had the SAR machines facing the other way you would see the hoist fits? Although accept it would affect the flow of the whole image. Thanks for compiling.

KiwiNedNZ 30th July 2021 07:48

Yeah we did debate that but would prob look a bit weird. However am open to getting everyones thoughts on this. Would prob do the 2 S92s and the AW189 the other way if we did do that.

helisniper 30th July 2021 08:06

Ned,

As you say, it would look weird and not be consistent with the series. Also, TBH, apart from diehard SAR aficionados, does anyone really care much about the hoist fit? Surely, one hoist above a door looks likes like any other?!

Brilliant work, well done!

If those three SAR machines all fit on one line, then I think it could do well to distinguish the HEMS vs. SAR helicopters (and having them face the other direction might not look as out of place), however if they are spread across multiple lines and facing the opposite direction I agree it might ruin the 'flow' of the image. If it isn't much work, it'd be cool to see a quick draft though?

Lioncopter 30th July 2021 09:45

Hello Ned, There is also HM Coastguard AW189 SAR helicopters. (11 Aircraft spread across 5 bases).

Great work as always.

Cheers
:)

KiwiNedNZ 30th July 2021 09:52

Lioncopter - Yep we have the AW189 on there already, its on the top row.

KiwiNedNZ 30th July 2021 11:02

Did some playing around with some other right hand side illustrations we had and actually looks wrong with three facing one way and the rest facing the other so going to leave it as it is.

If anyone can see any other issues that stand out - apart from the fenestrom on that one which is being fixed then please let me know.

Aucky 30th July 2021 14:43

Out of curiosity - what is the preference for the addition of the Airbus advert? Is it that they are a HeliOps paid sponsor?

Thanks for considering it anyway.

torqueshow 30th July 2021 20:16

Don’t know how pedantic you want to be but I believe Great North are now operating 155s as their latest and greatest if you wanted to show the most up to date kit used by each charity.

With that in mind would you add the jet-pack paramedic?

KiwiNedNZ 30th July 2021 20:35

Torqueshow didnt know they had an EC155, you got any photos of it.

KiwiNedNZ 30th July 2021 20:41

Found some pics of their EC155 so will get illustration done and update it

Ned,

What was the registration of the aircraft you think is an EC155?

The last two I am aware of joining them are an AS365N3+ (NHAD) and a N3 (NHAE).

That’s my fault, I can never tell the difference between an N3 and a 155, I just thought due to the pointy nose they had a new 155

KiwiNedNZ 30th July 2021 21:57

NHAD is the one I found but seems as per your post its an N3 dauphin and not EC155. So should we have the N3 with the long nose as the one on the poster or keep the one we have. ??

whoknows idont 31st July 2021 07:18

Two more details. For Northern Ireland Air Ambulance you have depicted an EC135 but caption says H135. For Thames Valley vice versa.

KiwiNedNZ 31st July 2021 08:51

I just went by the info on the list of air ambulance helos thats on wikipedia

KiwiNedNZ 31st July 2021 08:57

Got designer to fix. thanks/

KiwiNedNZ 31st July 2021 23:43

Okay finally made all the changes that people suggested and now got the final layout.

KiwiNedNZ 1st August 2021 06:19

Ok need everyones comments on this. Was told there is a Babcock AW139 doing O&G SAR work up north. Should that be included or not. My reasoning was its a private machine doing SAR primarily for their own customers - Thoughts ??

handysnaks 1st August 2021 08:28

Ned, I think that getting one of your posters out is like waiting to buy the very latest mobile phone. Whatever day you decide to get one, a newer, better one gets released the day after.
(Not much help to you, I understand. But you can bet your bottom dollar that some of those types or registrations will change before that poster is 3 months old).

KiwiNedNZ 1st August 2021 08:34

Handysnaks - Thats prob true but at least most of them will still be there :)

Whats your thoughts on including the Babcock AW139 that they use for SAR work up north.

handysnaks 1st August 2021 19:11

Well, as you have the Irish Air Corps machine on there (not a complaint, deserves to be there), then if it has been used for general SAR, maybe it should be.

tu154 1st August 2021 19:35

The Babcock machine is a declared SAR asset and has been involved in non oil and gas SAR rescues down through the years so why not?

KiwiNedNZ 1st August 2021 22:01

Here is the version with Babcock AW139 included. Also can everyone tell me if all the helos on this poster are active and current. Just want to ensure none have been replaced with others.

Redland 2nd August 2021 07:34

The welsh 135 is reg G-WASC

KiwiNedNZ 4th September 2021 19:20

All Done and Dusted. We changed a couple on there because the aircraft was no longer there but now its complete.
