Cyclic Question...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oM8Noh92fY

In the above video at 1:48 and 3:45 the pilot uses a "strap" which looks to be attached to the cyclic to offer up towards the instrument panel as if to check that perhaps the cyclic is at neutral before shut down.

I'm sure somebody around here will know what it is for - is anybody kind enough to satisfy my curiosity?!

Thanks!

I think to check neutral anytime rotors running on the ground, to avoid excessive mast bending moment.

First time i see this "strap", Clever, but only in one way : aft/fwd. If the cyclic fall down left or right , what happen ?
Better to use the "friction system" to lock the stick... ;)

You do use the friction system to ‘lock’ it in place. The strap is also lined up transversely with the mark on the instrument panel being the same width as the strap.
