Any ideas?
Whilst on my travels today - just passing Wick Airport at about 12.30, I observed a helicopter turning finals to land. Nothing strange there you might say. But this machine was an EC725 in full 'RAF SAR Yellow'. I don't think it was Jigsaw because if I recall they have a fetching black and yellow scheme. I was too far away to see any markings or serial numbers and typically didn't have my camera :ugh: Anybody out there know who's it was?

Sure it was a 725?
Possibly the all yellow EC135 Air Ambulance that operates out of Inverness, based on the far side by the tower. |
NHV perhaps
|
NHV L2 perhaps ??
|
Or NHV 175?

Its NHV L2 and a 365/155
|
Correct, NHV AS332 L2 with EC155 back up.

This was an exciting thread....

Iron & Greeny, please tell us what you base your "It's" and "Correct" statement on? The description, "Full RAF Yellow" would mean there being no rear red that NHV have!
And while you're posting, where do you we get the second aircraft from? Edward only mentions the one helicopter sighted ! |
I believe NHV have a short term contract out of Wick using those types.
|
The 725 is the military version of the 225, so no point mentioning it and NHV together.....
|
So it wasn't an NHV then :ok:
|
I know the engineers and pilots currently crewing it.

Thanks for the replies guys. It wasn't Helimed 5 from Inverness as it wasn't an EC135. It may well have been an EC225 or an L2, I'm not too clued up on the differences, but it was most certainly of the Puma variety. I was just curious as I've never seen one in pure SAR yellow (maybe saying RAF SAR Yellow earlier was misleading). Thanks again.

What you saw was the NHV AS332L2 Super Puma OO-NHS. This aircraft refuelled at Dundee on Tuesday 29th en route from Belgium to Wick, then routed through the ABZ zone about 5.20pm on its way north. http://denhelderaviationphotos.weebl...131007_007.jpg |
