Yes that is Putin's plane with the PM's 109 in the foreground. The regular hawks came from their base in Germany, the presidential ones I believe are flown in by Globemaster.

...and a lot of work for the greenkeeper afterwards :E

I remember the words of one when I placed a BO105 ( HEMS-mission at hole #19 ) on the green many moons ago:)

The Merlin is having to reposition as that golf tee couldn't take the weight in the end, hence the leaning. Just went and used another one. Everyone was as mindful of the course as was practicable. Expect the Nick Faldo designed course will get a make over out of this anyway.

Glad to see our PM is sticking to hits austerity measures, merely a 109 for him!

If the PM was using a 109 who was using the Merlin?

Also, what was the Irish AW139 doing there or are they now members of the G8?

The Merlin was there as cover for the 109s should one of them have to set down en route.

The AW139 brought in Taoiseach Enda Kenny I believe.

So that's why a gaggle were heading into Leeming on Wednesday.

All helicopters? Possibly 23.

Fantastic photos you got there LOZZ! How'd you manage to get so close? :eek: I was involved in spotting at the G8 Summit in Co/Op with the PSNI - However I never got the opportunity to enter the airfield for pictures nevermind the Lough Erne Resort. Well done nonetheless! :D

Hi Lozz

would be most great full if you can forward me the tail numbers of the 2x

VH-60N White Hawk (S-70A) that you have shots of trying to tie up some loose ends.

Most impressed with your shots, I run the web site for Northern Ireland that covers all movements at the 3 airports as you will see from the list. Members that have post photos to the site of the G8.
