FADEC

Hellooo,

We have a couple of Pratt&Whitney engines (207c) located in the US (i'm in UK) that we're selling. Someone called me and asked if they came with the FADEC. I think this can mean either full authority digital electronic control or engine control.
Because we're in the UK we didn't know if they did! And none of us really knew how it worked. Is the Fadec on the engine or the airframe or cockpit?

And how exactly does it work?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Oli.

Ok thank you. That's not good news for us...

So where exactly do you put it? Where on the airframe and what's involved. How's it go about sending/receiving information and controlling what the engine does?

I think I understand what it can do: maybe auto-start, 'predicts' or 'corrects for' overshoots or droops before they happen? better engine care etc.

Oli.

Wiki gives a reasonable outline of what FADEC does:
