Spooky use for small rotorcraft

This is an interesting development of model helicopters...

Bye bye the Red Arrows...

Imagine that scaled up with a dozen of those Sukhoi things doing simultaneous backflips!

As a matter of interest, how/why is a dozen toys flying in formation "scary"? Impressive. Clever. Spectacular, yes, but scary????

GoodGrief 10th February 2012 08:59

These things are concept.
Increase their size and power a bit, squeeze the logic a bit further, equip with cameras and/or even guns and they are the perfect tool for crowd control or even total control.

Any politician's wet dream...

r44heli 10th February 2012 09:19

Why scary?

Maybe its because I don't actually see them as toys...

Cloud Chaser 10th February 2012 09:24

Concept you say, I don't think so......

Drones

Cloud Chaser

Sorry you are right, but haven't they crashed a few as well?, as far as I am aware they use them in the states also to catch speeders on the lonely long highways.

A friend of mine was caught out by this, and asked the question, how did they know he was speeding, turned out they have the drones patrolling

Keepitup, sorry. I saw the emoticon and thought, as one would with such a bizarre post that it was tongue in cheek.

Total control? Of what? Why can't/don't real helos do that?

Oh dear. Keep taking the pills or those little green men will get you, if the ones in white coats don't get there first.

edit as I've just looked up Terminator. How old are you? Twelve? I can see that life must be a bit of a worry if you believe every trash movie you see is true.

ps. go see the Day of the Triffids and imagine where growing carrots got us! We should have thought...Oh how silly of us!

And as for Chemtrails :ugh:

zondaracer 10th February 2012 16:53

Did you see how the whole swarm went through that simulated window? Put explosives on all of them and you have a new attack weapon to clear out a building/cave/room with known badguys.

tartare 11th February 2012 07:29

Don't know if you saw the video of cruise missiles flying in formation that was accidentally shot by a Harrier pilot in the gulf years ago. The capability for Uav's to fly in formation has existed for quite a while - it's just kept reasonably quiet!
