Caution: Helicopter anorak question.

Does anyone recall the model of Bendix weather radar fitted to the BO-105 in IHL service and where the cockpit display was located, roughly, on the instrument panel? Thanks.

Hi it has been a while since I was last near it. The display was mounted on the right side of the pedestal just below the inst panel. The tx/rx antenna were all one unit. This was mounted on a four strut frame in front of the battery compartment door. A bulkhead was mounted on this frame to which the radome was attached. I am sorry I cant remember model no.

It's almost 53 years since I last flew EI-AWB but that's my vague recollection of the location of the display.

EI-AWK as G-BALZ at BEAS Kidlington, February 1973, before being re-registered, thence to Dublin for training before being based at Cork.

The Bendix RDR 1200 was mentioned by a pilot who flew radar-equipped 105s with British Caledonian so possibly the same system fitted to the IHL Bolkows.
