AS332L1 manufacture
Does anyone know if AS332L1 is still being built by Eurocopter or is the EC225 now only available as a Super Puma option for new aircraft?
I know I could just ask Eurocopter but was hoping for a quicker reply :hmm: |
I believe that the 225 is the only current member of the Super Puma family available to purchase new. Plenty of 332L/L1s around if you want a second hand one.....
|
We´ll I would need an AWSAR AS332L1 and there are not many of them around.
It´s just that I have a report in hand which states that AS332L1 are still available new and I believe that statement is incorrect. |
From their website, it would appear that Eurocopter still produce the L1 and the EC225:
Puma helicopter, civil helicopter, aerospatiale super puma AS332 - Eurocopter, an EADS company (It is the L2 that is no longer produced). |
The AS332 L1e, an updated version incorporating the EC225's avionics and digital 4-axis AP, was announced at Heli-Expo in March.

As 332l1+
Eurocopter is still producing a version of the Super Puma L1 incorporating some modifications of the avionics and a VMS. The VMS is the same than the EC225. For a new 332L1+, I think it's possible to get the APM2000 which would make a great upgrade of the A.P

I seem to remember it was an L1 of the Bundespolizei which was delievered new in December which had the snow incident.

Hi,
as far as I know, they must still be able to build the L1 - cause they don´t have a helling to build the longer one. So a L1 is build and then cut and stretched - ought to be cheaper than building a new helling. Greetings Flying Bull |
helling? Was ist Daß? The dictionary only mentions hell.
|
Hi helling or rig - kind of box, in which the fuselage is build, so that it will be nearly the same dimension as the others.

Aha. Thanks.
|
I've heard that you can also still buy the L2, but it has to be an order of 3 minimum, for them to consider it worthwhile. Rumours and all that.....
|
Can anyone explain to me why one would choose an L1 or L2 over the EC225 apart from pricing?
|
"Jig" in UK English and I think American too - an engineering term.
Jig | Define Jig at Dictionary.com To most people in the street though a jig is a dance:-) |
Type rating
Could anyone tell me the differance in costing for type rating from AS332 L1 to the L2, how much it will be to train for the L2. Thank you.
