R44 wanted

Hi,

I am looking for a R44 to DryHire/Hire for 6 months to a year. (Private use no school) I would appreciate it if any one could point me in the right direction

Oh yes, I know who you are. I've seen you up at Scotia a couple of times I'm sure. What's wrong with using their 44? Availibility can sometimes be a problem. Anyway, there's a guy I sometimes hire off of who may be looking to add one more guy to the people who hire from him. I'll get in touch with him and see if he'll give you a call. It's ideal cause he's based near Ardrossan.

I here that there is an AOC operator at Blackpool Airport that hires out an R44 with a CPL pilot at a reduced rate if you do the positioning. A cheap hour in the log book is as good as any other and the pilot comes free.:O

Wow that is cheap take away the £70 for fuel and its £170 dry price for a R44 I don’t know how they do it. But then again that’s the old COMED they went bust owning the aircraft owners £1000s and then the owners had all there aircraft impounded by the Blackpool airport because they were also owed £10,000’s in unpaid bills and then being felt by the CAA and taken to court.

The price includes instructor so the real deal is about £90 dry!!

fuel costs

Actually, it's even cheaper.

The fuel costs at £70 is an underestimate. Fill up the tank, pay the bill, and fly for an hour and then fill up again. Your bill will be more than 70 quid, I am sure of that. £80 per hour is more realistic, since fuel is burnt on, errr, engine time, not stick time.

I've had my say about commercial rates for a 44 on another thread, but to summarise, it's about £250.00 DRY, plus insurance, plus unscheduled maintenance, plus payment up front, plus minimum usage clause.

So someone will end up paying the cost of renting out at £250 wet, even if it is not the hirer in this case.
