Extra qualifications
 

Besides having the all important CPL, what other tickets, licences, certificates, qualifications etc do you hold that you have found useful/helpful/necessary throughout your flying career?

something that many of us in here are not very good at.

and I'll give an example with which you should be familar.

it involves an ambassador posted to this country from the good ol' US of A.

I think it was during the LBJ years???

When he arrived or our glistening shores he was asked by an enterprising journo what his advice had been from the boss back home.

Came the reply, "Ah was told to keep mah ears open, mah eyes open and mah---".

He didn't finish whilst the crowd broke up in laughter and disarray, as he was known as a rather garrulous gentleman.

A qualification that has nothing to do with aviation would probably be your best bet.

Learn Spanish.

The only non licence qualification I have sometimes found handy in 30 years of parapublic helicopter ops is my degree of luck. :O
