Lycoming Engine Overhaul

Can anyone give me an idea of the cost to overhaul a Lycoming HIO-360-E1AE engine and who you would think best suited to do the job. If its easier then the cost of a reconditioned one. Is there much difference in a recon vs new?

Thanks.

Norvic are currently quoting £18,000 + VAT for a full overhaul. This is for brand new pots.

Try Arrow Aviation Services

Scanaviation in Denmark do as good a job as you will find anywhere. I know of an engine recently overhauled by the company mentioned in the last post and there have been numerous teething issues with it.

Mine was a Lycoming Factory rebuild from the states, not cheap but no problems
