Strange but true!
I have just been reading a book giving details on the Duesenberg Model J that was made in the US of A in the period 1928 to 1937, it featured many inovative engineering pieces that would not be out of place in many of todays supercars,
Ie straight 8 engine Twin Cams chain driven 4 valves per cylinder Crankshaft damping done by using mercury Low compression 5.2:1 This engine made 320 BHP If using the centrifugal Supercharger the Bhp went up to 375 BHP You might all ask, "what has this got to do with Pprune Rotorheads" well the fantastic performance of that superb Gangster car was created by, Lycoming. no wonder their engines are nearly Bullet Proof!;) Vfr |
Hope they got more hours out of it than did the early LTS-101's!
