Headset Types
I am a fixed wing pilot in need of a bit of guidence from you Helicopter guys, which include a few questions which you will probably find stupid, so bear with me. What I need to know is:
What is the difference between a US and UK Nato plug. Does Bose produce the Aviation X with a UK Nato Plug (I have not found one so far) Will a US Nato plug (on a Bose) fit an R44. Whats the difference between High and Low Impedance units Thanks in advance |
The UK one works from day one, the US one turns up 3 years late and claims they did it all.:ok:

BRS_flyer,
Did you try the Search function? UK US headset plug thread. Impedance thread. Bose and impedance thread. General thread on headsets. Yours are not stupid questions, but a bit of research for yourself may help :hmm: |
:O Thanks!!

Bose Headset Dual Use
Can anyone help, and appologies if this is the wrong place to post this request.
I have a Bose headset that I would also like to use in fixed wing. Does anyone know of a was can this can be achieved, I have the normal single jack for helicopters and want to be able to plug in to the removable twin jack common on C172 trainer. Any ideas? Thanks for your help |
If your fixed wing is hi-impedance you need one of these:
Bose Fixed Wing Lead Or if you want a coiled lead one of these: Bose Fixed Wing Coiled Lead The lead comes complete with the microphone assembly and you simply undo two screws on the mic, slide the old one out and then slide the new lead in and tighten the screws...........even a fixed wing pilot should be able to do that :} FNW |

Saves you about $300, or whatever a second Bose mike assembly is worth. |
