Helicopter Skiing

I work in utility. Fire in the summer/skiing in the winter. The other day I heard an interesting story.

As near as I can tell, there is a company in NW Montana that plans to offer heli-skiing in an R-44. I may be incorrect. A friend of mine had an "in depth" conversation about heliskiing with an employee of this organization a few weeks ago.
Here is a link
The Daily InterLake: Firms seek OK to offer helicopter ski services

And a link to the company...Triple-X Helicopter Sightseeing and Pilot Flight Training School

Good Luck Gentlemen.....

I haven't read these links you provided but there is an external thing to carry ski:

The R44 Helipod VII Ski-Pod shows the versatility of the Helipod range of products.

From the design concept of a Ski-Pod to mountain hikers and survey equipment into remote areas - We purchased the Ski-Pod specifically for the survey contract and already we are finding other uses for it"

Well, I don't know

As cost efficient as this "Crow 44" may be but I prefer a powerhouse for heliskiing in the Alps i.e. Alouette III or the fantastic SA 315B Lama. Just my opinion:ok:

The R-44 won't be used for skiing, just research. This season is just experimental weather and snow information gathering. If everything works out we will get a bigger helicopter for next season to go into business.
