Would you fly this?

worryingly the answer for me is yes - I think it looks a great aircraft! But i've never seen a helicopter started literally "BY HAND" before!

Looks like something you'd get from Canadian Tire.:eek:

Droopy 5th June 2008 20:15

Perhaps just a teensy chance of a wind-up..but all credit to the ground chap who obviously has a blade exclusion zone around his head :uhoh:

The engine looks and sounds as if it wouldn't let you down :eek: :hmm: :}

I know I posted the video - but I just love that! If I knew it was safe i'd love to fly one of them.
Does anyone know what they were used for? No T/R so probably quite good for lifting but then it has 2 piston engines so maybe not that strong, and 2 crew?

I'd fly in it.

It looks, sounds and smokes very much like an old VW Beetle I once owned! Bloody loved that car. Never let me down............much!

They are used for crop-spraying a lot, dont know what it lifts though.

Empty 4300lbs, max GW 7170lbs, 2x 320hp radial piston engines. Sounds like it's a bit underpowered.

Not hard to tell if your into wind , who needs a windsock !.

KA-26

There's a bunch of KA-26 clips on Youtube now. I believe most of them are Hungarian (HA reg?) and are used on Ag operations. Quirky looking beast! :ok:

Blue Rotor Ronin 8th June 2008 23:28

Believe that's a Bristow Cloggie modded S76C++...:ok:

Do you think that might actually be running on Vodka! Housten we have Shmirnoff!

Very rare to have multi engine pistons. Always thought this was an untapped market. Allowing pilots to get multi time without the crazy cost of multi turbines.

Smokin' Kamov!

That Kamov on start-up makes the R44 look positively space-age!

(A turbine heli-pilot's definition of hell? - A thousand hours flying that KA-26!)
