Veritair in Cardiff sold

Understand JV has bought himself out from BI..and Avgas will soon by forthcoming

PEASACAKE 4th June 2008 19:03

Rumour has it that he might be involved with an AOC company called Luxair (previously Heli Charter Wales) operating B0105, B206, B407.

JV's a top bloke!! Had a fantastic time flying out of Cardiff! :ok:

Hope whatever he's up to proves a success!!

Veritair

That sounds like excellent news; well done to the buy out team. :D

As a resident of Cardiff I hope you add an R22 to your fleet so that I don't have to travel 70 miles for PPL instruction!

All the best,

M

R22 on the way, ideally with IFR fit...and possibly FNPT II. Doors wide open to GA now

Helinut 5th June 2008 21:15

A great step forward for a fabulous location! Just what the place needed. Look forward to it thriving in the future :ok:

Bravo73 5th June 2008 22:51

doc,

Are you saying that an R22 is going to be based at the heliport? Is it going to be a Clipper?

docstone 5th June 2008 23:14

I believe the plan is for an R22 based at Tremorfa. Not sure an R22 is available with floats other than fixed provisions though...are there pop-outs made?

tinyjohnston 5th June 2008 23:55

I was over there a few weeks ago for the Rugby Final & i have to say the service and help from all the ground staff and everyone in the office was amazing.....
The new owner was pointed out to me and i was told by 2 or 3 people that there was avgas on the way (we had to stop in Swansea for some on the way)

Why do we not have facilities like this in Ireland????

I wish them success in the future as its a very handy and useful facility for every heli pilot in GA and the Corporate world.....

Does the sale actually include the heliport itself, which I thought was leased from the council ??

May I wish you all the very best success for the new venture.

Great news for training

Great news! Having tried out the 'local' training schools when looking for somewhere to do a PPL(H) last year, one of the things that surprised and dissuaded me the most was the realisation that SE Wales & the Welsh capital particularly, basically doesn't have anywhere very 'local' (within an hour) for PPL(H) training currently ... be fantastic if this is being sorted out as there must be a market there :ok:.

(That's not to say I wasn't happy with any of the schools I did look at, mind - they were helpful and welcoming, just too far away to be practicable for me)

Yes, the heliport building does not form part of the deal, still owned by CCC.

McBad 10th June 2008 08:38

An R22.... this gets better and better! :D

I'd certainly be interested in being able to fly / train / hour-build from Cardiff, I'm sure there is a market here in south Wales. At the moment I have to invest three hours of my time on the M4 and M5, plus the extortionate cost of diesel plus the severn bridge toll, every time I want to fly. Very tedious and expensive, although the school I'm with in Gloucester are very good.

Please let us know how this develops and as any web-site comes on line and aircraft arrive.

M.

A little bird tells me the R22 should be on the flight line around August, perhaps earlier, web site being prepared.....avgas on tap then too.
